Hardware Description: Boss System is a Federal System used for generating, storing and transmitting the interment records to the USDVA. System was implemented around 2000. Prior records will be input into the BOSS System and then migrated to electronic format and stored on a dedicated server maintained by the TDVA in accordance with federal regulations governing records of this nature.
Software Description: Prior records will be input into the BOSS System and then migrated to electronic format and stored on a dedicated server. Current records will be immediately migrated to .pdf format and stored on the dedicated server.
System Location: The BOSS System is maintained on servers governed by the federal government. Electronic records will then be stored on a dedicated server maintained by the TDVA in accordance with federal regulations governing records of this nature.
Backup Procedures: the BOSS System is maintained and monitored by the USDVA. All backup procedures are administered by the Federal Government.

Records Management Division (RMD): 11-18-2013 On Cut off consider changing language to specify death of all beneficiaries or specific number of years after interment.
Tennessee State Libary and Archives: 12-17-2013 Disposition Notes needs to include clear directions as to when and where conversion from paper to electronic record occurs, and full information as to disposition of paper (and electronic)records. Currently, one has to look in Worksheet/Essential Records Stored to get additional information.
Comptroller Audit Review: 2013-12-13 We have reviewed RDA 11036 from an audit standpoint. We concur with the recommended retention and disposition specifications.
