| Duties: | Its mission is to safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of Tennesseans by requiring those who practice dietetics/nutrition within this state to be qualified. The Board interprets the laws, rules, and regulations to determine the appropriate standards of practice. The Board is responsible for the investigation of alleged violations of the Practice Act and rules and is responsible for the discipline of licensees who are found guilty of such violations. |

| Compensation: | Each member of the board shall receive compensation for services in an amount determined by the department, not to exceed fifty dollars ($50.00) per diem when actually engaged in official duties and shall be reimbursed for travel expenses. |

| Meeting Schedule: | Meetings shall be held as frequently as duties require, at least one (1) meeting annually, for two (2) to four (4) hours per meeting. |
