| Duties: | The Tennessee Board of Regents is the governing board for the state's 13 community colleges and 27 colleges of applied technology, which comprise The College System of Tennessee, the state's largest public system of higher education. The Board of Regents is vested with the powers and authority to govern effectively and set policy for the community and technical colleges within the system, in accordance with the laws of Tennessee and the policies of the Tennessee Higher Education Commission. The Board has 19 members and meets four times a year at regularly scheduled meetings; the chairman may call additional meetings as needed. |
