| Duties: | Its mission is to safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of Tennesseans by requiring those who practice acupuncture within this state to be qualified. The Committee interprets the laws, rules, and regulations to determine the appropriate standards of practice. The Committee is responsible for the investigation of alleged violations of the Practice Act and rules and is responsible for the discipline of licensees who are found guilty of such violations. |

| Compensation: | Each member shall receive all necessary expenses incident to conducting the business of the committee. Shall be entitled to a per diem of fifty dollars ($50.00) for each day's service in conducting the business of the committee. Other: All reimbursements for travel expenses shall be in accordance with the provisions of the comprehensive travel regulations. |

| Meeting Schedule: | The committee shall meet at least once each year within forty-five (45) days after the appointment of the new members. The committee shall meet at other times as needed. |
