The Archives of the City of Kingsport collects materials, published and unpublished, relevant to the history of the City of Kingsport and the lives of its inhabitants. This includes the papers and photographs of individuals, industry, business, and government. Papers and records include, but are in no way restricted to, government records, files of correspondence, diaries, scrapbooks, photographs, business records, and recordings. While some records date to early 1800's, the bulk of materials date to Kingsport's Incorporation in 1917 and later.

The Archives of the City of Kingsport is located on the 5th floor of City Hall in downtown Kingsport.
