Large collection of family and local histories genealogical and historical periodicals county and city records (mostly on microfilm, 1790s-1970s) photographs & maps (1890s-1980s) scrapbooks, city directories & high school/college yearbooks (1920s-present) rayon plant documents & artifacts (1940s-1970s) store ledgers, city plats, personal papers & journals (1905-1940s) rayon plant strike footage (DVD, 1927) and Elizabethton newspapers (mostly Elizabethton Star on microfilm, 1838-present, bulk post-1929).
Archives Notes
Access to physical manuscript collections limited to when archivist is available. Archivist works 28 hours/week on a rotating schedule, please call ahead for hours of availability for research assistance. Digital microfilm reader and scanner available. Photocopies: 10 cents/page. Prints from microfilm: 25 cents/page.
