Stowers Machinery Corporation is the Caterpillar dealer in 38 counties of East Tennessee and is proud to have been a part of this community for over 50 years. The Stowers family began its relationship with Caterpillar in 1954 when Harry Stowers went to work for Caterpillar, Inc. in Peoria, IL. In 1960, Harry, along with his brothers Bud and Dick, purchased the East Tennessee Caterpillar dealership and started Stowers Machinery. In 1993, Harry’s son, Wes Stowers, became President of Stowers Machinery and brought the family business into the second generation. Stowers Machinery’s biggest asset is their people. From 70 employees in 1960, Stowers Machinery now employs almost 350 people with an average tenure of over 12 years. The majority of Stowers' employees work in Product Support to provide repair, rebuild, and support services to their customers. The company’s primary goal is to keep customers satisfied for life through quality, service, and partnership. Stowers will continue to provide quality equipment backed by highly trained people working with state-of-the-art tools, utilizing the latest technological advancements, all to assist in the profitability of each of its customers.
